Can injection repair restore a pile's full load capacity?
Often, yes. Where cracks are fully injected with structural epoxy (BS EN 1504-5 force-transmitting products), the bonded crack is typically not the weakest part of the section, and integrity testing after repair confirms it. For voids around pile shafts, complete grouting restores lateral support and skin friction. However, if reinforcement is severely corroded or concrete extensively degraded, additional strengthening with FRP wraps or jacketing may be required alongside injection repairs.
